Pomnas 2025 was held in Semarang and Surakarta, 5,000 athlete students ready to compete

About Semarang – The cities of Semarang and Surakarta will host the 2025 National Student Sports Week (Pomnas) which is scheduled to take place on 19-27 September 2025.

This prestigious event will involve around 5,000 student athletes from various universities throughout Indonesia.

The Governor of Central Java, Ahmad Lutfi, welcomed the appointment of his province as the host.

He considered that the holding of Pomnas was not only a place to improve sports achievements, but also opportunities to encourage the potential of the region and the welfare of local communities.

“Sports in Central Java, achievements are quite good. This can be a penetration of sports potential and regional potential. The community will develop together,” Lutfi said when receiving an audience of the Pomnas committee in his office, Thursday (7/17/2025).

To support this big agenda, Lutfi stressed that the Central Java Provincial Government will provide full support through the Department of Youth and Sports.

One of the superior programs that has been initiated is the establishment of Sports Departure High Schools (SMKO) in the Jatidiri area of Semarang.

The Head of the Department of Youth, Sports and Tourism of Central Java, Masrofi, stated that the holding of Pomnas in Central Java was the first time.

The Provincial Government is ready to actively collaborate with the committee, both in terms of the budget and the registration system.

“For the registration of participants, we take advantage of the SIMPORA system. All athletes from universities throughout Indonesia will be registered through this system,” explained Masrofi.

Furthermore, Masrofi added that Pomnas 2025 is expected to have a significant economic impact. With thousands of athletes and officials who come, the hospitality, MSME, and culinary sectors are projected to increase sharply.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the 2025 POMNAS Committee, Heru Susanto, said that the match would take place at several well -known campuses in Semarang and Surakarta. Among them are the University of Diponegoro (Undip), Unnes, Upgris, Unwahas, UNS, and UMS.

Heru explained, there were 17 sports that would be contested. The committee has prepared a venue and technical coordination with various parties.

“Approximately 63 days. God willing, all preparations between Bapomi and Disporapar will run smoothly,” he concluded. ***
