The Semarang City Health Service ensures that health services remain optimal during the Eid 2026 homecoming period. A total of 10 health centers with Emergency Room (IGD) facilities will operate 24 hours to serve the community and travelers passing through.
Head of the Semarang City Health Service, M. Abdul Hakam, said this step was taken to anticipate the need for medical services on the main homecoming routes.
According to him, the health centers that remain open are in strategic locations, both on national routes and alternative routes frequently used by travelers.
“For example, in Purwoyoso, Tambakaji, Mangkang, Candilama, Srondol and health centers which, although on the edge of Semarang, are on the edge of alternative roads such as in Gunungpati, Mijen are also open,” said Hakam, Tuesday (17/3/2026).
Not only emergency services, all health centers are also equipped with emergency ambulances to support emergency treatment. The public can access this service by calling the emergency number 112.
The Health Service noted that as many as 16 ambulances and 12 ambulance motorbikes had been alerted during the Eid homecoming period this year.
“Puskesmas staff only take holidays on big holidays such as Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr on red dates, while they still take group leave. So the service continues,” he explained.
Apart from that, the 10 health centers are also equipped with inpatient facilities. In this way, patients who need further treatment can be treated immediately without having to be referred to another facility in an emergency.
Not only health centers, the Semarang City Health Service also ensures the readiness of 38 hospitals spread across various areas of the city. All these hospitals continue to provide services during the Eid holiday period.
In fact, each hospital has prepared a schedule of specialist doctors who are still on duty, ranging from surgical specialists, gynecologists (ob-gyn), nerves, heart, internal medicine, to pediatricians and others.
“Specialist doctors at these 38 hospitals will be on standby from March 18 to 24 2026,” added Hakam.
With this readiness, the government hopes that the public and travelers can feel safer and calmer during their homecoming journey, because access to health services remains maximally available.
