Patiayam Archaeological Site in Kudus, Ancient Man and Giant Elephant Gading

About Semarang – The Patiayam Archaeological Site is one of the important archeological relics in Indonesia located in Kancilan Hamlet, Terban Village, Jekulo District, Kudus Regency.

Located at the foot of the Patiayam mountains, this site is a silent witness to ancient life that occurred millions of years ago.

No less than 1,500 fossils have been found in this area, some of them are even stored in local residents’ homes.

This site is known as one of the most complete ancient sites in Indonesia. One of the most important findings is the Homo Erectus fossil, which is evidence of the existence of ancient humans in this region.
