8 Priority Fields for the 2026 Garuda Scholarship

In its implementation, the 2026 Garuda Scholarship determines eight main priority areas that will be the focus of education funding. These areas were chosen because they are considered to have a major impact on national resilience and competitiveness.

1. Energy, including renewable energy, hydrogen, modular nuclear technology, and household fuel cells.
2. Maritime, including autonomous ships, environmentally friendly shipping, integrated fishing industry and smart ports.
3. Health, such as vaccine development, pharmaceutical technology, bioinformatics, AI-based medical devices, and stem cells.
4. Food security, including precision agricultural technology, agritech, local food, and urban farming.
5. Defense, including advanced defense technology, independence of defense equipment and precision control systems.
6. AI and semiconductor digitalization, such as artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT), chip design, cybersecurity, and supercomputing.
7. Downstreaming and industrialization, with a focus on increasing the added value of natural resources and research-based industries.
8. Advanced materials and manufacturing, including industrial robot technology and the development of modern materials and manufacturing.

Apart from that, there are two priority supporting areas, namely business and economics, as well as law and policy, which play an important role in supporting the development of this strategic sector.

2026 Garuda Scholarship Registration Documents

Before registering, prospective participants are required to prepare a number of important documents which will be uploaded online. Completeness of documents is one of the main assessments in administrative selection.

Documents that must be prepared include report cards for semesters 1 to 5 with a minimum average of 85. Apart from that, participants must also attach proof of achievement at the national or international level.

For events organized by the National Achievement Center, the champion certificate can be downloaded via the official website www.puspesnas.go.id. Participants are also required to attach a health certificate from a health facility as well as a drug-free certificate from the authorities.
