ABOUT SEMARANG – The journey of 2026 has officially begun.

For the Indonesian people, information regarding national holidays and collective leave in 2026 is one of the most anticipated things, especially for planning holidays, going home, and work schedules throughout the year.

The government through a Joint Decree (SKB) of Three Ministers has determined an official list of red dates and collective leave for 2026.

Based on this decree, there are 17 national holidays and 8 days of collective leave which will apply throughout 2026.

This decision was conveyed after a ministerial level meeting and was officially announced on the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) website.

The SKB was signed by the Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar, the Minister for Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform Rini Widyantini, and the Deputy Minister of Manpower Afriansyah Noor.

National holidays are determined based on applicable laws and regulations, while collective leave is decided through coordination across ministries and institutions.

This determination aims to maintain a balance between work productivity and people’s need to rest and carry out religious worship.

Minister of Religion Nasaruddin Umar emphasized that the distribution of national holidays in 2026 has been arranged fairly and proportionally for all religious followers in Indonesia.

“Islam gets five holidays, Christianity and Catholicism four times, then Hinduism once, Buddhism once, and Confucianism once. The distribution is even so that all parties can enjoy and accept it,” he said.
