The practice of the month of Rabiul early 2025: Thanks to the Prophet Maulid with these 5 Worship

About Semarang– Muslims around the world are currently entering one of the most special months in the Hijri calendar, namely the month of Rabiul Awal 1447 H, which coincides with August 25, 2025 in the Christian calendar.

This month is also known as the month of the Prophet’s Birthday, because it is the month of birth of the most noble man, the Prophet Muhammad.

The presence of Rabiul Awal is not only a historical moment, but also a request for Muslims to improve practice and approach God Almighty and embrace the messenger of God.

Reporting from various classical and modern sources of Islam, the scholars recommend a number of main practices that can be done during the early Rabiul month to achieve intercession and blessing from Allah SWT.

1. Increase reading sholawat

The first and most emphasized practice during the early Rabiul was to read the prayer of the Prophet Muhammad. Sheikh Abdul Hamid Qudus said, it was advisable to read as many prayer as possible this month as a form of love and gratitude for the birth of the Prophet.

“Know that it is arranged this month (Rabiul Awwal) to increase the sun’s fasting and read prayers to the leaders of the Prophet Muhammad,” – Sheikh Abdul Hamid Qudus.

2. Doing Sunnah Fasting

The next practice is to run sunnah fasting such as fasting Monday-Thursday, Ayyamul Bidh, or other fasting.

This is in accordance with the Prophet’s hadith when asked why he fasts Monday, “That was my day was born, that day I was sent and that day I received a revelation.” (HR. Muslim)

Fasting on Monday during the initial rabbi became one of the forms of honor for the birth of the Prophet and showed gratitude to God.

3. Commemorating the Birthday of the Prophet SAW

The peak of the anniversary of the Birthday of the Prophet Muhammad SAW this year fell on 12 Rabiul Awal 1447 H or 5 September 2025, which was also designated as a national holiday.

Many Muslims commemorate him by reading the life story of the Prophet, holding a council of knowledge, and dhikr together.

Imam Suyuthi mentioned that reading the story of the birth of the Prophet (SAW) brought angels, the grace of God, and the prayers of big angels such as Gabriel, Mikail, Israfil, and Izrail.

4. Read the Qur’an and contemplate its meaning

Early Rabiul was also a momentum to read and recite the verses of the Qur’an related to the struggle, morals, and mission of the Prophet Muhammad.

This can be a means of increasing love for the Prophet and making it a role model in everyday life.

5. Give and do good

Following in the footsteps of the morals of the Prophet Muhammad means to show concern for others.

In this glorious month, Muslims are encouraged to reproduce alms, help the poor, visit the sick, and spread kindness.

“The Prophet SAW is the most generous person, and his generosity increased in special months.”

In language, Rabiul Awal means “first spring”.

In the classical Arabic context, this month marks the time when people return to settling after the wandering season.

This name also shows prosperity, cold, and peaceful – in line with the presence of the Prophet as a blessing for the universe.

Almighty Allah says:

“Say: ‘With the gift of God and His mercy, they must be happy.’ ‘(QS. Jonah: 58)

Great scholars like al-Shaykh Ibn al-Haj encourage Muslims to glorify this month by increasing charity and embracing the messenger of God.

The initial month of Rabiul is not only a warning to history, but it is a great opportunity for Muslims to refresh their faith, to improve their worship, and to revive the sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad.

By carrying out main practices such as prayer, sunnah fasting, reading the Qur’an, commemorating the birthday, and charity, God willing, we can achieve blessings and intercession from the beloved prophet. ***
