Central Java Provincial Government distributed a scholarship of Rp17.2 billion for thousands of underprivileged students



About Semarang – The Central Java Provincial Government continues to strengthen its commitment in alleviating poverty through a scholarship program for thousands of students from underprivileged families.

This step aims to ensure the sustainability of their education so that it opens up better life opportunities in the future.

The Governor of Central Java, Ahmad Lutfi, stressed that education is the main key in breaking the poverty chain which is still at 9.58 percent.

This was conveyed while attending the release of the CT ARSA Foundation leading school class V in Sukoharjo, Saturday (6/28/2025).

“The identity of the community is not only a matter of clothing, food, and shelter. But the most important is education,” he said firmly.

In 2025, the Central Java Provincial Government has distributed scholarships to 1,100 school dropouts and vulnerable to dropping out of school at the high school, vocational, and SLB levels, with a total budget of Rp2.2 billion. Each student receives assistance of Rp2 million.

Of these, 200 students came from high school, 893 from SMK, and 7 from SLB. In addition, as many as 15,000 students from poor families also received additional scholarships with a total budget of Rp. 15 billion.

Ahmad Lutfi stressed that this scholarship program is part of a systemic approach that focuses on developing human resources. He also instructed all regents and mayors in Central Java to adopt similar programs to expand the reach of educational assistance.

On this occasion, the Governor also motivated the CT ARSA Foundation leading school graduates not to be afraid to dream big. Of the 101 graduates, 85 were accepted at PTN, seven abroad, seven in well -known PTS, and two at the Polytechnic.

Inspirational stories come from Esa from Purworejo and Daffa from Cilacap, two scholarship recipients who are now penetrating the top national and international tertiary institutions.
