An atmosphere full of solemnity and a spirit of togetherness enveloped the sacrificial animal slaughtering activities at the Darul Ma’arif Kaplongan Islamic Boarding School in commemoration of Eid al-Adha 1447 H/2026 AD, Sunday (28/05/2026).
This annual activity, which has become a meaningful tradition in the Islamic boarding school environment, has been going on since the morning and was attended by the foundation’s management, asatidz, Islamic boarding school students, the local community, and even the Islamic boarding school guardians. Also present on the occasion was the Chairman of the Foundation Trustees, KH. Dedi Wahidi, who gave a speech as well as spiritual motivation about the importance of the value of sacrifice and social care in sacrificial worship.
During this year’s implementation, the qurban committee of the Darul Ma’arif Kaplongan Islamic Boarding School slaughtered as many as 3 cows and 7 goats. Two of them were sacrificial animals from the santri guardians, namely Riki Riyanto bin Yanto and Tashaqiilah Dwi Putri Kanisyah bint Dwi Ratu Ningsih.
The entire slaughtering process is carried out in accordance with Islamic law by involving a special committee, Islamic boarding school administrators, and the surrounding community who work together to help with the slaughtering, packaging and distribution of sacrificial meat to the people who are entitled to receive it.
In his speech, KH. Dedi Wahidi said that Eid al-Adha is not just a ritual for slaughtering animals, but is a momentum to instill the values of sincerity, sacrifice and social solidarity in people’s lives.
“Eid al-Adha is a very special moment for all of us, because it contains the meaning of sacrifice and sincerity. Through sacrificial worship, we learn to care more, share and strengthen the sense of togetherness between each other,” he said.
He also emphasized that the spirit of sharing taught in the sacrificial service is part of the character education values that continue to be instilled within the Darul Ma’arif Islamic Boarding School Kaplongan Indramayu.
“May Allah accept all of our sacrificial deeds and give blessings to the mudhohi, the committee, and the entire community. This spirit of togetherness and care must continue to be maintained, not only during Eid al-Adha, but in everyday life,” he continued.
The activity then closed with a joint prayer led by KH. Mukromin Thohir. In this prayer, he asked that all acts of sacrificial worship be accepted by Allah SWT and become a blessing for the Islamic boarding school, its students and the surrounding community.
The implementation of qurban at the Darul Ma’arif Islamic Boarding School in Kaplongan Indramayu is not only an annual routine agenda, but also a means of strengthening relations between the Islamic boarding school, the Islamic boarding school’s guardians and the community. It is hoped that the values of togetherness that grow in this activity will continue to become a legacy of goodness that lives on from generation to generation.
