From Simple Actions to Real Impact, GMEDIA’s GEMATI Program Cleans 172 Houses of Worship

Concern for prayer spaces is not always realized through large-scale programs. Real actions carried out consistently often have a more meaningful impact. Departing from this spirit, GMEDIA – PT Media Sarana Data presents a Corporate Shared Value (CSV) program entitled GEMATI or Movement to Clean Places of Worship.

The GEMATI program is driven by volunteers together with local mosque administrators with the aim of maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of prayer spaces. This activity was first carried out on 23 May 2024 as the first activity and then inaugurated on 22 October 2024. Since then, GEMATI has been carried out consistently and sustainably as part of the company’s social commitment.

As a Digital Service Provider company, GMEDIA believes that its role is not only limited to technology development and connectivity. The company is also committed to providing social contributions that touch the basic needs of society. GEMATI is a concrete manifestation of this commitment, with a focus on maintaining prayer spaces that have important spiritual and social values.

Places of worship not only function as spaces for prayer, but also become centers of community religious and social activities. The cleanliness and comfort of the worship space plays a major role in creating a solemn and inclusive atmosphere for the congregation. Through GEMATI, GMEDIA seeks to provide a simple but meaningful contribution by ensuring that places of worship are kept clean.

The implementation of GEMATI is carried out through collaboration between volunteers and mosque administrators. Activities carried out include cleaning the main area of ​​the mosque or prayer room, maintaining supporting facilities such as ablution areas and toilets, and arranging the yard to make it neater and more comfortable. This approach not only brings physical changes, but also builds synergy in maintaining the quality of the worship space.

“For us, a place of worship is not just a building, but a space that has deep spiritual meaning. Through GEMATI, we want to make a real contribution to maintaining the cleanliness of places of worship while strengthening collaboration with mosque administrators,” said GMEDIA Managing Director, Budiyanto.

As of February 22 2026, the GEMATI program has cleaned 172 places of worship in various GMEDIA operational areas. Currently, the program is running in the DI Yogyakarta and Purwokerto areas, and is planned to be expanded to Pemalang in the near future.

In its implementation, GEMATI also involves social agents as part of the program ecosystem. Currently, as many as 29 social agents are empowered to play an active role in maintaining the cleanliness and comfort of places of worship. The presence of these social agents not only supports program sustainability, but is also part of community empowerment efforts at the local level.

Most of the places of worship that were cleaned were in areas that were covered by the GMEDIA digital network. To date, GMEDIA has built more than 1,700 Digital Hub points in various regions. This data becomes a reference in determining the GEMATI implementation area, so that the company’s presence not only provides digital connectivity, but also social contributions that have a direct impact on the surrounding environment.

In the future, GEMATI is expected to continue to develop as a consistent and sustainable program. With a collaborative model between volunteers, social agents and mosque administrators, this program is expected to be able to create better hygiene standards and increase the comfort of the congregation.
